Signals we watch

What feeds a HVAC list

  • Mechanical / HVAC change-out permits (furnace, AC, heat pump, mini-split)
  • Additions, ADUs and major remodels
  • Electrical service upgrades that often precede heat-pump installs
  • New-construction permits
How HVAC contractors use it

Ways to work the list

  • Remodel follow-on: added square footage means a load calc and often a new system.
  • Neighbor marketing around change-outs on same-age housing stock.
  • Contractor activity: who is pulling mechanical permits where the jurisdiction publishes it.
Cross-trade follow-on

Permits in other trades that point to yours

Remodels and additions drive HVAC, electrical, landscaping and pool work. An HVAC change-out often needs electrical capacity too.

Upstream: permits that create HVAC demand

The honest limit. A permit usually means the job is already sold. We say that up front. The value is what happens around it:

  • Neighbor marketing around active jobs: same-age houses on the same street.
  • Cross-trade follow-on demand: new roof → solar, gutters, insulation; remodel → HVAC, electrical, landscaping, pool; new build → pest, security, landscaping.
  • Contractor activity: which contractors pull permits where (where the jurisdiction publishes it), and who to recruit as subs.
  • Early-stage projects for commercial trades and GC subs.

HVAC Monday Jobs questions

Do all cities publish mechanical permits separately?

No. Some publish building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical permits as separate datasets; others fold them into one building-permit file. We map each jurisdiction's permit types to trades and tell you which ones a feed covers before you buy.

Does a permit mean the job is still open?

Usually not: a permit typically means the job is sold. The value is neighbor marketing around active jobs, cross-trade follow-on work, and contractor activity where the jurisdiction publishes it.

How do I know you cover my ZIPs?

Ask for a free 10-permit sample with your trade and ZIPs before you buy. We only sell jurisdictions we actually pull, and we show you the trailing 8-week average count first.
